CCLL COVID UPDATE - SPRING 2022

The Board of Canyon Country Little League (CCLL) has adopted the following safety protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic for the Spring 2022 season. These protocols have been compiled after reviewing recommended polices, practices, and guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH), and Little League International (LLI).

All CCLL managers, coaches, umpires, league officials, and families are required to review and comply with these guidelines.

These safety protocols are subject to change and will be updated as mandates and protocols in Los Angeles County change and/or further information is received regarding best practices.

MASK REQUIREMENTS

*    In outdoor settings with less than 5,000 people, it is recommended, but not required, that all spectators who are in close contact with others, regardless of vaccination status wear a mask.

COVID-19 VACCINATION / ISOLATION / QUARANTINE

*    Beginning on February 1, 2022, the definition of fully vaccinated was updated to mean having the booster dose if the person is eligible to receive a booster. Adults whose vaccination status is up-to-date[1] and youth who are fully vaccinated are not required to quarantine if they are close contacts to a case of COVID-19, as long as they remain asymptomatic and receive a negative test on Day 5 after exposure.

Adults whose vaccination status is not up-to-date or youth who are not fully vaccinated will be required to quarantine for a period of 5 days if they are close contacts to a case of COVID-19. They will also be required to provide a negative test prior to rejoining team activities.

Isolation = when a person needs to shelter themselves because they have tested positive

Quarantine = when a person needs to shelter themselves because they have been exposed

*    A player/coach who has a positive COVID infection can return to practice and competition after at least 5 days of isolation, if the following conditions are true:

  • Symptoms have improved
  • No fever for 24 hours, without fever reducing medicine
  • Provides a negative test after the 5th day. Home tests are valid.

*    A player/coach who has a positive COVID infection can return to practice and competition after 10 days of isolation without a negative test, if the following conditions are true:

  • Symptoms have improved
  • No fever for 24 hours, without fever reducing medicine

Day 0 = the day that symptoms start, or the day the positive test was taken, if no symptoms

Day 1 = the first day after Day 0
